Building on our successful conference last year, Children in Wales’ Parenting Conference 2016 will focus on how to develop the skills, knowledge and competence of the people who work to support parents and carers.
Keynote talks will include building the case for maintaining early support for families, how new legislation can support this, meeting needs of families with more complex needs, and consequent workforce challenges to be addressed.
In response to feedback from last year there will be a greater focus on shared learning through workshops. Delegates will have an opportunity to contribute their knowledge and ideas about a range of topics, including knowledge and skills needed, how best to train and supervise staff who support families, volunteering and co-production, learning from other Family and Parenting support models across Europe and internationally.
Aim of the conference
We hope the event will increase delegates’ understanding and give them the opportunity to consider their own policy and practice alongside sharing experiences and best practice.
Who should attend?
Professionals providing family and parenting support and those with a policy lead or interest in family and parenting support.
